Black Hawk Down

Black Hawk down is an interesting book about a true story. The story is about US peace keeping troops in Mogadishu, Somalia. The US rangers and delta elite units were to capture enemy leaders on a 30 min day-time mission, which turned into a huge long disaster.
I enjoyed the book, mostly because I learned a lot about military tactics and operation. That being said, it was quite grusome with lots of blood and gore.

  1. its really really funny that your reading Black hawk down because I recently finished a book (the book i am about to blog about) where the main character's dead mom went to Mogadishu at the time when black hwk down took place and actually took pictures of what was going on...then her arm gets ripped off and she gets addicted to the morphine they give her to stop the pain....but any way what a coincidence..... :P

  2. But don't you like blood and gore and that kind of thing?

Maybe you'd like The Killer Angels, by Michael Shara... in fact, Jeremy, that's a book I've thought about for you, specifically, before. It's definitely a war book--this one is set in the Civil War, though.
